New Generations Service Committee
What we do.... | |
|
The 'New Generations Service Committee', formerly referred to as the Youth Service Committee, recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development opportunities. Our Club's work in this Area of Service is best exemplified by our support annually of The Big Chill snowshoe marathon in conjunction with Give to Live.
Proceeds from this event support programming for at-risk youth in Annapolis County.

Another prime example of our service to new generations is our sponsorship annually of one or two Grade 11 students to the 'Adventures in Citizenship' event in Ottawa. This is a unique opportunity for young Canadians to gain a better understanding of our country. Through meetings with political leaders, senior officials and others, they learn about the workings of our democratic institutions.
